Job Title: Supplier Quality Specialist
Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Supplier Quality Specialist to join our team. In this role, you will play a critical role in ensuring the quality of our supplied components and materials, collaborating closely with suppliers to maintain compliance with quality standards and regulations. Your expertise in quality assurance, inspection techniques, and quality systems will be instrumental in assuring that our products consistently meet the highest quality standards.
Responsibilities:
- Supplier Quality Management: Collaborate with suppliers to ensure compliance with quality standards and specifications, addressing any non-conformance issues promptly and effectively.
- First Article Inspection (FAI): Oversee and coordinate the FAI process, reviewing FAI packages submitted by suppliers, analyzing measurement data, and providing technical guidance as needed.
- Audit and Compliance: Conduct quality system audits of suppliers to verify adherence to industry standards, regulatory requirements, and customer-specific quality expectations.
- Issue Resolution: Investigate and resolve quality-related issues, including supplier performance problems, non-conforming products, and customer complaints, implementing corrective and preventive actions as necessary.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including engineering, operations, and supply chain, to ensure products consistently meet quality and regulatory requirements.
- Quality Metrics: Develop and maintain quality metrics and reporting systems to monitor supplier performance and identify areas for improvement.
- Supplier Training: Provide training and guidance to suppliers on quality requirements, standards, and best practices to enhance their quality processes.
- Continuous Improvement: Actively support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance the quality and efficiency of the supply chain, including the FAI process.
- Industry Awareness: Stay current with industry standards, regulations, and trends related to quality assurance and FAI requirements, ensuring our processes remain aligned with best practices.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in engineering or a related field preferred. In lieu of a degree, a minimum of 3 years of experience in quality assurance, inspection, or a related field is required.
- Strong knowledge of quality systems, FAI processes, and industry standards and regulations.
- Experience working in a remote or virtual environment.
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong attention to detail and analytical skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects and priorities effectively.
