Disclaimer: Please note that this is not a Software QA position. We are seeking candidates with experience in Aerospace Manufacturing and First Article Inspection (FAI) project management.
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced FAI Project Manager with a strong background in Aerospace Manufacturing and FAI compliance to join our team. In this role, you will oversee and manage FAI projects from initiation through completion, ensuring that customer requirements, industry standards, and regulatory guidelines are met. You will coordinate resources, manage supplier and customer communications, and ensure timely and accurate delivery of compliant FAI packages.
Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage FAI projects, ensuring timely execution and compliance with AS9102, customer, and industry standards.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for customers regarding FAI project progress, deliverables, and issue resolution.
- Coordinate and oversee the work of FAI Quality Technicians, ensuring alignment with project schedules and priorities.
- Review and approve supplier FAI submissions for completeness, accuracy, and compliance.
- Facilitate communication between suppliers, customers, and internal teams to resolve technical and quality issues.
- Track and report on FAI project status, metrics, and timelines, escalating risks and delays as necessary.
- Support supplier development through feedback, guidance, and training on FAI requirements.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives within the FAI process, enhancing efficiency, accuracy, and customer satisfaction
- Stay current with regulatory requirements, customer specifications, and best practices in FAI project management.
Requirements:
- Undergraduate degree in engineering, quality, or related field preferred
- Minimum of 6 years of experience in aerospace quality assurance, manufacturing, or inspection, with at least 2 years in a project or team leadership role.
- Strong knowledge of AS9102 requirements, FAI processes, and quality systems.
- Demonstrated experience managing multiple projects with competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
- Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively across functions.
- Experience working in a remote or virtual environment.
